Numi Tahiro (田寛 ヌミ Tahiro Numi) is a scientist who works at the ET Research Center, researching about the Gauna; she later becomes an unwilling servant of Ochiai and commits suicide.
Personality & Character[]
Little is known about Numi due to limited information. She seems to have devoted her life into studying the Gauna and spends a great deal of her time at the ET Research Center. So devoted into gauna research that she would treat the lab as a secondary home to monitor gauna behavior. Unfortunately, Numi ended up mind controlled by one of Ochiai's Blood Nematodes. The parasite took over her body and suppressed her personality. Ochiai would use Numi's clearance for intelligence and helping him with his gauna experiments. When Sidonia started to suspect something, the nematode committed suicide against Numi's will.

Ochiai went to see Numi and everything seemed normal until she pulled her sidearm out and shot herself through the temple. The nematode was programed to kill itself to protect Ochiai's secrets. When it realized Numi has become a liability, the nematode had Numi grab her sidearm and kill herself. Confused as to what's happening, nobody knew about the nematodes and her mysterious death was unresolved.
